“Guide to the development and implementation of a Health Management Plan for the New South Wales Mining industry”

NSW Department of Primary Industry  

The Guide has been developed by the Working Party with the assistance of Dr Tim Driscoll. The draft guide has the support of the industry stakeholder representatives on the Working Party. The Mine Safety Advisory Council supports the document and agrees with a wider consultation process as part of the guides development."

The closing date for submissions has been extended to 10 December 2008.   We would encourage SIA Members to consider providing comment as requested.

Health and Safety Professionals Alliance (HaSPA)

While HaSPA is a Victorian initiative, the SIA OHSE Chapter provides a national perspective and also links this forum with OHS educators nationally.

OHS core body of knowledge 

In 2007 WorkSafe Victoria introduced an initiative to bring together occupational health and safety (OHS) associations and OHS educators with the objectives of promoting OHS as an area of professional practice, and improving OHS service delivery to Victorian workplaces. Operating under the title of the Health and Safety Professionals Alliance (HaSPA), a code of ethics and minimum service standards for professional members of OHS associations was released in April 2008.
